We have over 25 years of experience behind us in the fields of healing, massage, brain education, personal health and fitness and the study of energy. To create such a learning environment, we have integrated a curriculum including the basics of Western massage and science with the theories and practices of the East, including energy work, yoga, ki-gong (Qi-Gong), Body & Brain Harmonizing Therapy(Hwalgong)and shiatsu. More importantly, only at Sun Institute can you learn to utilize our brain-body connection through Brain Education and Brain Respiration Therapy (BRT).

BRT combines neuroscience and meditation to enhance concentration. The brain will be stimulated to create more peaceful, productive, and creative thoughts, through the creation of new neural pathway connections. You can change your habits, actions, and lifestyle through BRT.

Get Certified
The Sun Institute’s staff is ready to help you with your journey of becoming a nationally certified massage therapist. With instructors with over 10 years of experience in massage therapy, energy healing, and license to practice in New York as well as New Jersey, all students are well guided to attain what is needed to pass the exams. Students will receive:

  • Working knowledge of the core curriculum needed to get certified
  • Professional yet fun and exciting lectures making the learning process effective and enjoyable
  • Hands on experience of what is covered in lectures making the students working knowledge more practical
  • Assistance with testing and studies

Learning Environment

Sun Institute’s classrooms are designed to enhance the learning experience in a tranquil environment with tools to engage the students. The facilities are cared for on a daily basis to ensure a proper learning and healing environment. Not only are the facilities cleaned several times a day but the energy of the classrooms and training rooms are also aligned to create a peaceful and productive work area.

The Sun Institute provides the students with a completely authentic holistic experience in a comprehensive learning environment. Our facility serves as a campus, as well as a healing center, massage therapy center, and yoga studio. This is a unique opportunity for massage therapy students to study in a facility that practices what it teaches.

Healing Room
The Sun Institute’s healing room is lined with a special combination of minerals and other natural materials designed and proven to affect the flow of Ki-energy in its vicinity. Often made into bracelets and necklaces to protect the wearer from negative energy emissions such as stray magnetic flux from high voltage sources, this healing material will enhance your own natural healing abilities. In a room lined with this special material, the healer will lead you into an unparalleled healing experience.

Yoga Studio
Entitled the “hottest new workout” by NBC News, The Sun Institute is one of over 400 branches worldwide to provide the healing benefits of Dahn Yoga to the public. Students can practice in a wide space laid with padded floors to provide low impact exercises. Students are welcome to begin their day in a quiet meditation to clear their mind and set a focus for the day’. This studio, designed according to the laws of Poong Su (also known as feng shui), is a sanctuary for our students who are busy juggling their lives in school, job and/or family.

Classroom
The classroom displays learning tools including a complete skeletal figure, western and eastern anatomical charts, and all massage equipment and supplies available for students to use. Unlike the institutionalized settings of many classrooms that may dull the students’ motivation to learn, Sun Institute’s classrooms are designed to enhance learning experience in a tranquil and peaceful environment with tools to engage the students.

Small Classes
No more than 12 students are accepted per semester to ensure the highest quality of education and care for our students. Many alumni speak of the one on one care that they recieved while attending classes at The Sun Institute.

Graduates

Our graduates work at some of the most prestigious spas and holistic centers in the country. Some of our graduates have expanded their practice through our yoga therapy certification program. Our large network of connections in the field of holistic health and wellness allows us to provide guidance and assistance in job placement.

AMTA
The Sun Institute is a Council of Schools member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). AMTA is the largest international volunteer member-driven organization representing massage therapy profession

State of New Jersey Department of Education
Approved by the State of NJ Department of Education Successful completion of The Sun Institute’s program ensures your professional standing in the state of New Jersey as a massage therapist. Sun Institute graduates are also eligible for the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB).

Approved by the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, County Workforce agencies.
Approved by the NJ State Employment & Training Commission Qualifying students are eligible to receive funding toward education at The Sun Institute.

NCBTMB
Approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork as a Category A Provider of Continuing Education. Massage Therapists can earn credits toward their National Certification with credits from The Sun Institute.

ABMP
With a credo of “Expect More” ABMP knows the field and has been helping professional massage therapists since the 80’s.

Sun Institute curriculum has been approved by the National Skills Standards measured by ABMP & acknowledged by the NJ Department of Education.
